Rules

  • 1. Round 1
    An Individual event.
    1. The topic will be announced a day before the event starts.
    2. Participants will have to prepare to speak both for and against the topic.
    3. The participants will have a total time of three minutes to address.
    4. If the participant is speaking for the topic, at the sound of the buzzer, participants will have to switch sides and speak against the topic and vice-versa.
    5. The buzzer will be rung by the judges multiple times over the duration of three minutes.
    6. At the end of three minutes, participants will have to only conclude the current side of the debate.
    7. No vulgarity is allowed. If used, it will lead to direct disqualification.
    8. Selected participants will qualify to the final round.
    9.The deciding factors will be the Content and Quality of Speech, the ability to switch sides effortlessly, and confidence.

  • 2.Round 2 (FINALS):
    1. This will be conducted with only the winners of each batch of Round 1, to decide 1st, 2nd places.
    2. This round will follow the British Parliamentary Debate Format.
